Yesterday afternoon, the broken zipper on my favorite heavy winter jacket in Sydney turned into a complete disaster because the tiny metal slider snapped off entirely. Trying to fix it with a pair of rusty pliers only managed to tear the fabric along the main seam. My flatmate was muttering something about Stay Casino while searching for a roll of black duct tape in the kitchen drawer. Finding a proper tailor who doesn't charge ridiculous prices is getting harder every day around this AU neighborhood.
